With the intention to provide maximum information to people regarding the federal capital’s education, health and tourism sectors, the federal Ministry for Capital Administration and Development (CAD) launched its official website on Monday.
Talking to Pakistan Today, CAD Secretary Riffat Shaheen Qazi said that her team had been working hard to improve the Health and Education system of the federal capital. She said that launching the website was a step forward for positive change. She said that work was being done to abolish evening shifts from all educational institutions affiliated with the Ministry of CAD.
“There should be no evening shift. Children should be given the chance to play and have fun in the evening. We will abolish evening shifts,” she said.
She said that the postponement of teachers’ recruitments for the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) run educational institutions was out of question. Talking about the much debated fresh recruitments of teachers, the secretary said that a request had been forwarded to the prime minister to issue a ‘No Objection Certificate’ (NOC) for inductions. “After receiving the NOC we will start conducting tests and interviews” she said.
Discussing the website project, she said that work on launching the official website had started after receiving instructions from the minister.
The newly created website displayed information regarding issues of health, education and tourism facilities besides guiding people about the civic body and its functions.
Minister Nazar M Gondal, in his message for the website, pledged to improve the state of affairs and bring about a positive change at CAD.
“Islamabad is the capital of the country and the face of the nation. The state of affairs at CAD would certainly determine the perception of our country at large. So, I am honestly committed to contribute towards making the capital an ideally true role model for the rest of the country to follow and for outsiders to have a nicer impression of Pakistan. Our endeavour focuses on improving the quality of education and health facilities for the inhabitants of Islamabad”, said Gondal.
The minister said that there was always room for further improvement and the public was welcome to share their suggestions for the enhancement of service delivery in educational institutions and hospitals. He added that efforts were underway to offer more facilities, like cardiac surgery and cancer screening at the PIMS hospitals.
