Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch on Sunday urged Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to accept young doctors’ demands and to announce a new service structure for them.
Baloch said that the doctors’ strike was causing hardship to the masses and loss to the exchequer. “The Punjab government should take a realistic decision and should address all reservations,” he said.
Baloch expressed concern over the young doctors’ decision to besiege the Chief Minister House, saying that meanwhile patients from all over the province would remain unattended.
He said that the bureaucracy always tried to create hurdles in solving the problems. He demanded that all the development and construction projects related to health be completed at the earliest so that fresh appointments of directors and paramedics could be made and health facilities for the masses be improved.
