Operation division of Islamabad Police has reviewed the security plan for Muharram-ul-Haram and imposed a ban on the use of loudspeakers, display of weapons and distribution of provocative literature during the month. According to sources, a meeting chaired by the Islamabad Senior Superintendant of Police (SSP) was held to review the security plan for the processions and congregations in Muharram. Senior officers of Islamabad police attended the meeting.
The police officials decided to impose a ban on the use of loudspeakers, display of weapons, delivering annoying speeches and distribution of provocative literature. They also decided to take strict legal action against anyone who would defy the ban. It was also said in the meeting that all the processions would be carried out on time and the routes for processions would be decided soon. According to sources, the police officials would hold meetings with prominent religious scholars to discuss the security plan with them.
