Sindh Prosecutor General submitted a report to the Supreme Court which says that 1,329 cases are lying pending in 11 special courts of the province. Prosecutor General Sindh Shahadat Awan submitted report at Karachi Registry of the apex court during hearing of the Karachi lawlessness case on Saturday. A case among them is pending since year 1999 and the hearing of several other cases was pending since 2006. Prosecutor General also informed the court that the accused of 2009 Ashura bombing were escaped from police custody after which the case has been closed. Justice Khilji Arif Hussain expressed displeasure over the matter.
