The Institute of Rural Management (IRM) announced on Tuesday that they would conduct a series of training sessions on gender sensitization across the country to sensitize organizations about stereotyping, oppression and gender relations.
According to details, workshops titled ‘Gender Responsive Governance’ would be organized in various cities including Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Sukkur, Quetta, Lahore and Peshawar. The workshop would cover major areas like gender prejudice, relationships, network and reputation. Ways to identify the glass ceiling and to search for a mentor within an organization would be discussed in detail with the objective to improve gender equality in organizations. This would enhance good governance within organizations and lead to overall poverty reduction. The workshop would be designed to enhance the participants’ capability to work in multidimensional work conditions with good governance skills. Participants would gain theoretical and practical understanding and approach to ‘Gender and Development.’ These workshops would also enable them to enhance their abilities to contribute to and benefit from development, and identify gender bias in workplaces. In November, training workshops on ‘Breaking through the glass ceiling’ would also be organized by IRM in Rahim Yar Khan, Hyderabad and Mithi under the same training series. In this context, IRM would provide need-based scholarships to participants.
