Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and former president of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Aitzaz Ahsan on Wednesday said that constitutional tenure of the incumbent government would be completed on March 18 and elections will be held on time.
Talking to the media on occasion of SCBA elections at Supreme Court Lahore Registry, he dispelled the impression that the party was not enjoying good repute and added that PPP’s performance will be a pleasant surprise for everyone.
Aitzaz termed the verdict of the Asghar Khan case a good omen and said transparent investigations should be held into the matter.
He said the door for dictatorship had been closed once for all after the verdict of the Asghar Khan case.
Commenting on the attack on the child activist, Malala, he said that the PPP adopted a clear stance on Malala’s issue whereas other parties remain undecided about it.
