Punjab law minister Rana Sana Ullah on Tuesday said that the President’s House has turned into epicenter of political activities and his party will resort to Supreme Court to bring them to end. Punjab law minister said this while addressing Meet the Press program in Faisalabad Press Club.
He demanded that following the Supreme Court (SC) verdict in Asghar Khan case, former army chief General (Retd) Aslam Beg and General (Retd) Asad Durrani should be arrested, investigated and the facts be made public in this regard.
Keeping in view FIA track record, any inquiry to be conducted by it could not be considered credible, he said.
The Supreme Court expunged 8 paragraphs from the written statement presented by Younas Habib in the court during the hearing of Asghar Khan case, he said and added that if these paragraphs were not expunged, a ban could be imposed on PPP.
“The SC decision is ray of hope in the prevailing darkness,” he said. “If it is implemented with good intent, it can brighten democracy and future of the country. PPP on the other hand is indulged in point scoring rather than implementing this decision,” he added.
He alleged that corruption and corrupt practices had remained the sole agenda of PPP during the last five years and looting and plundering remained its top priority and not the supremacy of democratic institutions. That was the only reason that not a single resolution adopted by the parliament could be implemented, he added.
He said government did not take any workable step to stamp out terrorism and nor it has taken military leadership into confidence in this respect.
There was no need to launch any military operation in South Waziristan, he said adding his party would resist if PPP tried to delay the general elections under the pretext of operation. The need is there that government writ is established in South Wazirstan, he remarked.
Energy crisis is incompetence on the part of the government, he said, adding PML-N if voted to power would overcome energy crisis within three to five years.
