83 jobless youths get training under Waseela-e-haq

Interest free loan to jobless youth for initiating their own business under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) not only improves the socio-economic condition of the beneficiaries but it also opens a new vista of economic development in the country, said member provincial assembly (MPA), Dr Nadeem Maqbool on Tuesday. Dr Nadeem expressed these views while speaking as a chief guest at the concluding ceremony of the training of the 8th batch comprising of 83 jobless youths under the Waseela-e-Haq Sindh scheme. He vowed to eliminate poverty from the society and said that BISP was launched in line with the vision of late Benazir Bhutto.
These youths received Rs 0.3 million interest free loan for launching their own business under the program, he said.
The BISP was not limited to only one political party but was serving the genuine beneficiaries all over Pakistan without any discrimination, said Dr Nadeem.
BISP Sindh Director HQ, Pervaiz Iqbal also informed that jobless youth had been selected through balloting by President Asif Ali Zardari for grant of interest free loan up to Rs 0.3 million so that they could launch their own business and improve the socio-economic condition of their family members. The BISP director said that it offered Rs 300,000 long term interest free financial assistance which could be recovered in 15 years and was issued without any collateral. He said the government had started helping deserving people in education, health, insurance and introduced insurance scheme for the widows who had lost their bread earners. The Waseela-e-Haq scheme would help thousands of families to graduate out of the monthly subsistence, and set up their own small businesses and live a life of dignity and self respect, he added.
