An ailing woman on Tuesday sold her seven-month-old baby in order to be able to continue her medical treatment. The woman belongs to the Qila Mian Singh village in Gujranwala. The woman said that she was not able to continue medical treatment because of poverty. “That’s why I am selling my baby for Rs 120,000 to get treatment for heart and liver,” she said. “Even we have not paid our house rent for last eight months,” she said, adding that poverty had forced her to take this extreme step.
