Man held at Islamabad airport with 2kg heroin

Customs authorities at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport on Wednesday seized over 2 kilograms (kg) of heroin and arrested a man attempting to smuggle the drugs abroad. According to media reports, after receiving a tip-off, the customs officials at the airport remained alert at the check-in for a Saudi-bound flight. The accused was thoroughly searched by customs officials which led to the recovery of over 2 kg of heroin concealed in a secret pocket of his bag, officials said, adding that he was a Pakistani citizen holding a Pakistani passport. The customs officials handed the man over to the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for further investigation.
