Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has started probe into alleged corruption and illegal recruitments in Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC).
According to sources, the PTDC had not provided its records despite repeated requests from Corporate Crime Circle of the FIA. A team of the agency led by Inspector Adnan, raid office of the corporation and seized its records. They also took Manager Accounts, Abdul Rasul Zahidi, a blue eyed of MD PTDC, Mir Shahjahan Khetran, with them, where he gave written guarantee that he would be available whenever the agency calls him for investigation.
The sources told INP that office bearers of the PTDC union lauded the initiation of investigation, hoping the agency would point out the irregularities and take strict action against the responsible without accepting any pressure from the government.
President of the PTDC union, Sajid Yaqub said that some employees had not been getting their salaries since last six months, while the blue eyed employees were given full freedom to loot the national exchequer. He informed that Manager Accounts, Abdul Rasul Zahidi was having five designations simultaneously, including manager accounts headquarters, controller finance and accounts hotel and others.
When contacted, Deputy Director Corporate Crimes, Mazhar Shah said that Abdul Rasul Zahidi was not taken into custody, rather he just came with the FIA team to tell them the details of the PTDC records and FIR was not yet registered in this regard.
