Four Pakistani Shia pilgrims heading to a shrine in central Iraq died in an attack on their bus on Friday. Police said the attack involved a roadside bomb that struck the pilgrims’ bus near the town of Balad, 55km north of Baghdad. After the bomb exploded, gunmen opened fire on the bus from the roadside. Police said 14 people on the bus, including the Iraqi driver and the guide, were wounded in the attack. Medics at a nearby hospital confirmed the casualties.
