17-year-old Aasia shot her boyfriend Qaiser in a crowded market near Sandha on Bund road. According to details, Aasia, resident of Rana Town, worked at a factory. She had been involved with Qaiser for the past four years. Aasia said that Qaiser had been making false promises regarding marriage during the course of their relationship. “He had been playing around with me,” said Aasia, “making promises of marriage and later coming up with excuses such as unemployment to delay it”. According to Aasia she had had a heated argument with Qaiser a night before the incident, following which he assaulted her and refused to marry her.
“I decided to end my life and his too. He had made my life miserable,” said Aasia.
“I borrowed a pistol from someone at the factory and went straight to the market where I knew I would find Qaiser with his friends. I opened fire right away not knowing who else was injured,” she stated. Police sources said that when they arrived at the venue, they found Qaiser and his friend Shakir severely injured along with a pedestrian named Nasir. The injured where immediately shifted to a local hospital for medical assistance and an FIR was registered against Aasia, said the police.
