Punjab Governor Latif Khan Khosa said that law and order situation in the province was worsening each passing day and held the Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif responsible for it.
Addressing an oath taking ceremony of the Media Workers Organization at his official residence on Wednesday, Khosa said no one was ready to listen to the voice of the poor and that rule of law was non-existent in the province. He said he had written a letter to the CM regarding inappropriate statements from the provincial law minister adding that the CM was behind such rhetoric.
He said Malala Yousufzai’s name was synonymous with enlightenment and she represented the future of the country. He believed the nation would unanimously cast vote in her favour if a referendum was held. The governor said there was no place for terrorism and lawlessness in our society and that the continuity of democracy was important for the future of Pakistan.
He further said that the federal government always ensured freedom of media and steps were being taken to address all issues faced by this community.
