Afghan, NATO troops arrest senior Taliban leader in Kandahar

Afghan-led security force, supported by coalition troops, arrested a Taliban senior leader in Kandahar province.
NATO-led International Security Assistance Force following a statement on Wednesday announced, “The detained Taliban senior leader controlled Taliban assassination attempts, improvised explosive device operations, and suicide attacks throughout Kandahar district.”
The source further added, “The security force also detained a number of suspected insurgents and seized multiple IED-making materials as a result of the operation.”
Afghan and coalition forces today confirmed the death of Taliban leader Qader during a security operation in Kandahar province Saturday, ISAF said following the statement on Wednesday adding that Qader was responsible for the movement of weapons and ammunition throughout the province.
Afghan and coalition forces conducted a precision airstrike to kill two insurgents who were observed burying an IED in Logar province, ISAF said adding that Afghan and coalition forces killed five insurgents observed engaging in nefarious activity during an operation in Nangarhar province.
Taliban militants group yet to comment regarding the report.
