KARACHI – The Joint Action Committee of PIA Employees (JACPIA) has promised Interior Minister Rehman Malik that protesters will not forcefully stop employees from performing their duties.
At a meeting held on Thursday between a Joint Action Committee of PIA Employees (JACPIA) delegation led by Pakistan Airline Pilots’ Association (PALPA) President Captain Sohail Baluch and Interior Minister Rehman Malik, protesting employees were also promised a designated space where they can carry out their peaceful demonstrations and where violence will not be resorted to.
The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) management welcomed the meeting, claiming that it was “positive.” An airlines spokesperson said that keeping in view the decisions jointly announced after the meeting and to mitigate the suffering of the passengers, PIA is making all necessary efforts to resume its flight operation. The spokesperson claimed that PIA flight, PK 307, from Lahore to Karachi will operate according to scheduled time at 10.00 pm on Thursday night.
