Islamabad: ECP to hold national voter day on Oct 17

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will hold national voter day on Wednesday to create awareness about the importance of vote among the people.
A meeting of the ECP held under the chairmanship of the Additional Secretary of the Election Commission Afzal Khan reviewed the preparations for the national voter day.
Khan said a national voter day would be held in order to increase public awareness on the elections and the ECP has requested the Pakistan Army’s assistance for the purpose.
Moreover, Khan requested the civil society, political parties and the media to play their respective roles in increasing public awareness on the importance of voting.
He further added that the ECP was aiming to have an 80 per cent voter turnout for the upcoming general elections.
