Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Sunday visited the various sections of the Metro Bus Project on a two hours inspection visit early in the morning. According to details, when the CM arrived at Gajju Matta, a large number of people had gathered there who expressed their joy on seeing the CM.
The CM mingled with the people freely and asked them about the importance of the project. The people unanimously agreed that this was an excellent project as it would provide the best transport facilities to the people. They said that although they were facing temporary difficulties, yet the project would be greatly beneficial in the future and would have a far-reaching impact.
Speaking on the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif assured the people that their difficulties would soon change into comfort. On the demand of the people, the CM directed the Lahore Division Commissioner and the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General to identify a suitable piece of land for a graveyard. On the complaint of the owner of a plot that had fallen under the project, the CM ordered the authorities concerned to pay him compensation within 24 hours. The CM personally reviewed the work by stopping at various sections of the project and issued instructions to the officials concerned.

  1. Well I am not into politics but Journalism but seriously this guy has done more than other retarded Chief Ministers of other provinces.

  2. Ferozepur Road was reconstructed just recently after a needless delay of almost three years only to have it dug up again for the MBS. The constant digging up of the road and the disruptions in management and planning have caused the citizens to literally stop venturing outdoors because they are unable to reach their destinations. The bifurcation of the middle lane of the whole of Ferozepur Road makes it extremely difficult for pedestrians to cross, particularly the elderly and ill. When the PML-N came to power in Punjab, it decided to launch yet another big-ticket infrastructure project to cement its hold on the province. It rejected the Lahore Rapid Mass Transit Rail project that had been conceived in tandem with a Hong Kong-based consulting company by the last government in favour of the MBS. Reports indicate that the MBS is costing so much that it is starving other government departments of funds. Couple this with the road-widening project on the Canal — being carried out simultaneously — and one begins to question the Punjab government’s priorities.
