The police foiled a terror bid and destroyed a bomb through blasting it by firing here on Sunday.
According to details, the Badhber police was informed about presence of a bomb in Barra Sheikhan of Peshawar.
Huge contingent of police with armor carriers reached the scene. Due to absence of bomb disposal squad (BDS) the police blasted the bomb by opening fire on it.
Police said that the bomb recovered could have caused huge human and property losses if not spotted and destroyed in time.
It should be mentioned that several bombs have been recovered and defused from Sheikhan Barra area during recent months.
