Nationwide prayers held for Malala’s health

Nation observed Youm-e-Dua (Day of Prayer) on Friday for early recovery of Malala Yusufzai who was seriously injured in an assassination attempt in Swat.
According to media reports, special prayers were offered during the morning assembly at all educational institutions for Malala and her two friends who were injured in Tuesday’s attack. A one minute silence was observed at noon-time in this regard.
In Karachi special prayers were held for the early recovery of Malala after Friday prayers in the mosques. Rallies and processions were taken out slamming the atrocious attack on the innocent children that fatally injured Malala. In Lahore prayers were also held in schools and colleges for the early recovery of Malala while the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) organised a congregation, praying for Malala Yousufzai’s health. The prayers were attended by the party office bearers from Punjab including the office-bearers of the PTI women wing. The attendees of the congregations took out a procession in Lahore’s Garden Town area after the prayers. The protestors shouted anti-US slogans alleging that American conspires were at play behind incidents of terrorism in Pakistan. The PTI rally demanded the arrest of Malala’s attackers and said that those killing innocent children were not Muslims rather the agents of anti-Islam forces. In Islamabad educational institutions also organized special prayers in their usual morning assembly. In Peshawar, one minute silence was observed in the schools, colleges and universities besides the government offices prayed for the health and happiness of Malala and other children injured in the incident. Prayers and rallies were also taken out in Faisalabad , Muzaffargarh, Khanewal, and Chichawatni.
