The prices of petrol and compressed natural gas (CNG) are likely to rise again on October 15, media reports say. According to reports, the price of petrol is likely to increase by Rs 2.50 per litre, while the CNG rate will go up by Rs2.30 per kg. The price of kerosene oil would be increased by 70 paisas per litre, and that of HOBC by 30 paisa per litre, reports say. High speed diesel (HSD), which is mostly used by heavy vehicles, electricity generators and agricultural tube wells, is likely to be increased by Rs2.30 per litre. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and oil marketing companies have started working on the new prices, and a summary would be forwarded to the Finance Ministry tomorrow. The new prices will be in effect from October 15.
