Six dusted in violence

At least six persons were killed, nine were injured and four others were arrested in Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Sir Syed Town for their alleged involvement in sectarian target killings in the city.
Police conducted a raid in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area and arrested three persons suspected of involvement in sectarian targeted killings. Police also claimed to have recovered weapons from the arrested suspects.
In other incidents: a high court lawyer was shot by unidentified gunmen when he was rerouting to Gurumandir from Nazimabad. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was said to be in critical condition. In another incident in Gulzar-i-Hijri unidentified gunmen opened fire upon a restraunt, leaving seven injured and two dead. The police said that the incident was a result of a personal dispute. One person was killed and another injured when unknown assailants opened fire on them near the New Karachi Power House. In another incident, one person was shot dead on Kharadar Road in the Baghdadi area.Two persons were also injured in firing incidents in Landhi’s Future Mor area and at the Quaidabad Bridge.
PCG seized 430 KG of Hashish in gawadar: Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) seized Hashish from general area Pashal Goth near Gwadar in Balochistan.
PCG officials had been tipped off by intelligence agencies regarding smuggling of narcotics in Pashal Goth. PCG had constituted mobile patrol teams and had set up snap checking pickets in the area. On seeing the PCG officials, the smugglers opened fire and PCG officials’ retaliated by firing back at the smugglers. However the drug traffickers fled unhurt into the mountains.
Later, the PCG patrolling team recovered 430 kilograms of fine quality of Hashish dumped in the desolated mountainous from where the smugglers fled to dodge bullets. Approximate value of the Hashish seized was estimated to be Rs. 60,20,000
Police arrest 32 accused in last 24 hours: Metropolitan police in their on-going drive against criminals arrested 32 law violators on Friday.
The city witnessed four encounters between police and armed criminals and police busted three criminal gangs on Friday. In all, 23 pistols and nine mobile phones were recovered from the possession of those arrested and police registered an FIR against the arrested and started investigation.
