The people of Karachi were privy to a scintillating evening of Liszt and Wagner by Master of Music Thomas Hitzlberger. The performance was organised by the Consulate General of Germany in Karchi and the Goethe Instut.
Hitzlberger performed ten pieces in all. The evening was a lively one with vivacious rhythm flowing in serene surroundings and the audience particularly the western classical music fans thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thomas Hitzlberger has masters degree for piano and has appeared in scores of festivals including the Beethoven Festival in Bonn and the Vienna Musiksommer. He has also given solo performances with orchestras such as the Prague Symphony, the RAI Orchestra of Rome and other well-known ensembles. He has traveled all over Europe during the course of giving concerts, making radio and television productions and CD recordings.
Earlier, the Consul General of Germany in Karachi, Dr Tilo Klinner, introduced the distinguished musician and said 2013 was being observed as the Year of Wagner and this performance in Karachi was also a part of the tribute.
