KARACHI – The Indus Valley School (IVS) of Art and Architecture opened an exhibition of six young artists’ works at the IVS Gallery on Wednesday. According to a press release issued by the school, the exhibition titled ‘Encounters in Drawing’, which is being curated by Zarmeene Shah, would run until February 26.
The art show is showcasing the works of Nadia Batool Hussain, Ammad Tahir, Seher Naveed, Uzair Akram, Noor Yousof and Sivim A Naqvi. Drawing a link to the exhibition titled ‘Encounters’, which was curated for the Rohtas 2 Gallery in Lahore, ‘Encounters in Drawing’ showcases the work of six young artists as they navigate through the medium of drawing.
Through their investigations, they come to formulate new ways of seeing and thinking, and thus to define what the practice of drawing means to them. The resulting works take the form of what one may consider more traditional representations of this medium as well as digital, three-dimensional and video-based experimentation.
