The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has dismissed a petition filed against the appointment of the new Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman, Tahir Shahbaz. The petition was filed by the former CDA chairman Engineer Farkhand Iqbal. It stated that Farkhand was appointed as the chairman of CDA for five years under CDA’s law, adding that he was being removed from office on political grounds.
Dismissing the plea, the court remarked that the five-year term was not mentioned anywhere in the notification of Farkhand’s appointment as CDA chairman.
