PIA fears penalty after ESI raises concerns

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is feared to pay penalty as European Safety Inspection (ESI) showed intent to fine it over non compliance with international aviation laws. Per details, ESI expressed concerns over the expired medical certificate of pilot and absence of manual code book in cockpit of Lahore-Paris PIA flight PK-734.ESI also raised objection over the safety record of a cargo plane operated by the airline in the continent. Both flights were cleared for takeoff by Paris and Manchester airport authorities after PIA assured them to comply with the statutory requirements. However sources in the airline anticipated levying of fines by ESI in a week.
