Pakistani authorities on Monday denied a report that thousands of Australian sheep culled over disease fears were killed improperly, insisting they were slaughtered in accordance with Islamic practice. A court on Saturday halted the cull of 21,000 Australian sheep amid a dispute over whether or not they are sick, but a senior official insisted the 7,600 animals already killed had not been mistreated.
The shipment of sheep arrived in Pakistan almost a month ago after being turned away by Bahrain, and livestock officials ordered them to be culled after they tested positive for salmonella and actinomyces bacteria. But after an appeal by importer PK Meat and Food Company, the Sindh High Court rejected the test results and ordered fresh samples to be taken and sent to Britain for analysis.
The cameras do not lie, and we know all about the atrocities you have committed against our animals. May your God seek revenge upon you.
Kindly create an NGO for securing sheep rights and request Australia to give funding to you on this brutal attitude of Pakistanis toward these sheep. This is high time to have this type of NGO and show you champion of animal rights in Pakistan where humans are considered as disposable entity,
The brutal treatment of these animals has been filmed and shown on Australian television. Islamist slaughter practices are inhumane in any event because the sheep is fully conscious when its throat is cut and death comes slowly.Islamist slaughter is based on ignorance and is not respected in any civilised country. The treatment of these animals and the way they were bludgeoned and stabbed and in some cases buried alive is even below the low standards of Islamic slaughter. What was filmed was an undisciplined attack on captive animals.Australians like me will continue to use this shameful slaughter as an example of why live exports to Pakistan must end immediately. Live exports must end because the welfare of these animals cannot be protected once they leave our soil.
