Modern education facilities to children: minister

Punjab Education Minister Mujtaba Shuja-ur-Rehman on Monday said the government was providing modern educational facilities to children and 80,000 children had been admitted to government schools from private schools.
In a statement, he said that 108,000 schools were providing education to children in the province and one teacher was available to 31 students whereas, after the new recruitment, one teacher would be available to 29 students. He was addressing a scholarship distribution ceremony at Government High School, Chamra Mandi.
He said that Rs 4 billion would be spent to provide necessary facilities in primary and middle schools whereas Rs 5.2 million was being spent to upgrade girls’ middle schools in the province.
