The police on Sunday morning arrested 21 bookies in separate raids conducted in different areas of the city and recovered gambling material from their possession.
According to reports, the police conducted a raid on a tip off at the gambling den owned by Imran in Iqbal Town area of Lahore. During the raid 19 bookies gambling on Pakistan-India T-20 cricket match were arrested and cash, telephone sets, mobile phones, tape recorders and other material was recovered from their possession.
In a separate raid, Sanda police arrested two bookies and recovered gambling material from their possession.
Separate cases against the nabbed culprits have been registered.
