19 more arrested in connection with Youm-e-Ishq-e-Rasool violence

The capital police on Wednesday arrested at least 19 more suspected persons in connection with the rampage in Islamabad on the occasion of “Youm-e-Ishq-e- Rasool” (S.A.W) last Friday.
According to a police spokesman, personnel of the Tarnol Police Station had apprehended at least nine people, while police officials of the Sabzi Mandi Police Station had also arrested another 10 people who were involved in the destruction of public and private property during the angry protests on “Youm-e-Ishq-e- Rasool” (S.A.W).
He said that all suspects were arrested by the police after they were indentified through closed-circuit television (CCTV) footages, adding that police had already arrested at least 60 people in this regard by scanning through various CCTV footages.
The spokesman also said that police were continuing search operations and investigation was underway to hunt down the remaining people involved in the violent incidents.
