At least four persons were killed and several others were injured in separate incidents of violence in different areas of the city on Tuesday.
According to police, unknown armed men gunned down one person in Korangi area. The body was shifted to hospital.
The police recovered a dead body from an apartment situated in Gulistan-e-Jauhar area. Police feared that the deceased was shot dead upon resistance during a robbery attempt.
Bullet-riddled, tortured dead bodies of two people were found in Allahwali Chowrangi, New Karachi area and Pak Colony. Police said both the incidents seem to be result of kidnapping for ransom.
Meanwhile, seven persons were reported injured in separate incidents of firing in various areas of the provincial metropolis.
The citizens have expressed grave concern over surge in incidents of target killings and recovery of dead bodies as nine people including four real brothers, Abdul Fareed, Abdul Moiz, Abdul Waheed and Muqeed Jaan, stated to be activists of religious party, were gunned down in different areas of city on Monday.
They were of the view that law enforcement agencies have failed to give protection to public lives and properties and common man finds it difficult to go out of home to earn livelihood for his family.

2 MQM workers gunned down

At least two persons were shot dead in Surjani Town area of Karachi as targeted killings continued unabated on Tuesday.
According to Police sources, both the deceased were affiliated with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). The police said that Riaz, committee member of the MQM, and another worker were gunned down in Unit 7-K in Surjani Town.
The assailants managed to flee after the killings. The bodies were taken to a nearby hospital for medical formalities. Police patrolling in the area was increased following the double murder. Panic gripped the area and business activities came to a halt after the incident.
Meanwhile, funeral prayer of four real brothers who were killed Monday night was offered at a local mosque. They were affiliated with the Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat.
Speaking on the occasion, ASWJ Karachi chapter chief Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqui announced to hold a protest on Friday against the killing of his party workers.
