President of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf said Monday that no one was allowed to attack the sanctity of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
“Those who have made the blasphemous movie have played with the emotions of 1.5 billion Muslim population of the world,” the ex-president said.
Addressing a gathering in Khairpur from Dubai via video link, the former president of Pakistan denounced the loss of more than 20 innocent lives and the damage done to property on the occasion of ‘Youm-e-Ishq-e-Rasool’.
He urged upon the UN to make laws in order to prevent any practice that might hurt feelings of a religious group.
About the problems faced by the people, he noted the prices of consumer items of daily use were soaring high, unemployment had made it difficult for the poor to earn livelihood and the recent floods had also played havoc with the common man’s life. “But the government has done nothing for the welfare of its people,” he maintained.
Referring to the earthquake of 2005, Pervez Musharraf said his government had invited 76 donor countries to Pakistan. “They gave a $ 6 billion aid to Pakistan but because of the current government’s corruption, no country is willing to make donations for the flood relief work,” he observed. Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif, Anwar Ali Shah, Sehem Ali Dada, Ghulam Murtaza Raja, Ghulam Mustafa Khaskheli, Chaudhary Muhammad Ashraf and Qirat Zaidi also addressed the gathering.
Although I disagreed with you during your decade-long era, I fully agree with your above address to a gathering in Khairpur. It seems that when in power, one can't reason or differentitae between what is right and what is wrong, but when out of power, the same person realises and speaks what is right. So, it is better not to go for power and politics. This my friendly advise to you and all others gunning for the top seat in Islamabad..You can serve Pakistan without getting involved in politics, "Jo un ka kaam hai, wo ahl-e-siyasat jaanain, mera to paigham-e-mohabbat hai, jahaan tak pohnchey". these muslims are actually used to dominating people during the dark ages and they still are living in the same world even though the rest of the mankind has moved forward. Musharaf, you are not living in stone age when you could have intimidated people into submission and making them respect your prophet. Grow Up! No one has to respect your Prophet, he is your prophet and you can respect him as much as you want but dont expect majority of people who care less about him to respect him, its up to them whether they want to respect him or not , get it? Just in case if you have not realized Muslims societies that are more religious are the most corrupt and most backward hell holes and do not deserve to be respected in anyway.
totally agree. their founding fathers had said that they want a separate country so that they can grow, if this is the growth they have done in 65 years then perhaps they are incapable of growing. In fact if they had stayed with India they may have become more appropriate
Ohhh What a lecture Musharraf was giving to poor khairpur people about respect of Prophet hood.What ever he did to this country comes in circle of traitor ship and his status is nothing more than a runaway general who is trying to come back through demand of International political On this highly politicized conflict he is trying to set his political gain which I am sorry to say cant be win by him as his creation MMA and other religious groups have full control how to exploit this game and that is why no political leader come to street to divert the attention of people toward some reasonable kind of protest and world saw our cannibal like attitude that is by product of military regime.
he is right that world has given us 6billion dollar aid to us on 2006 earth quake but it was not corrupt government but his cronies like rashid quershi, farooq naddem or his created department of National disaster was completely failed to deliver aid to public along with Islamabad bureaucrats who were assigned to shift this aid to people.So it was his government who become reason of bad repute and he should be thankful to Zardari made by NRO whose performance has covered his black holes and people are becoming confused who is more worst for Pakistan.
