The Tehsil level of the Punjab Youth Festival, which is the third level of the three-month long activity has got uniformity in its competitions and on Monday around 60, 000 entered into different events throughout the province and 16662 won their games.
In Lahore, the number of participants doubled in just two day and reached nearly 3000 and the winners were 1216. All the nine Towns of Lahore showed great enthusiasm in different events of the Tehsil level as in the Samanabad town’s badminton, union council 92 beat union council 104, 2-0. Umer Mushtaq of union council 106 beat Shakeel of union council 89, 2-0. Union council 93’s Umer Rafiq defeated Bilal Rasheed of union council 90, 2-0. Union council 93’s Qasim Abbas beat union council 106’s Imtiaz 2-0. In doubles, union council 106’s Zaheer and Imtiaz beat union council 92’s Usman and Zuber by 2-0. In Tug of War, union council 88 defeated union council 89.
In Samanabad, Union council 91’s Abdul Wakeel beat union council 102’s Zikraya 15-12 in badminton event. In doubles, union council 91’s Sarfraz Ali and Zikriya defeated union council 102’s Basharat and Abdul Wakeel. In Table Tennis events, Ehsan bin Kosar of union council 24 won the competition .The score was 21-7, 21-9. In Badminton, union council 24 beat union council 22, 2-0. In Football, union council 18 defeated union council 23, 4-2.In Arm Wrestling, union council 23 beat union council 24, 2-0. In athletics, Iftikhar of union council 23 bagged first position in 200 M race. In Billiard, union council 23’s Abdullah beat union council 24’s H.M Shahzad 2-0.
In Data Ganj Bax town, Badminton, union council 85’s Shakeel beat union council 86’s Haider 2-0.In doubles, union council 86’s Umair and Haider beat union council 85’s Farhan and Ijaz.In Aziz Bhatti Town, Badminton matches were held. Ahmed Zafar of union council 67 beat Mian Shakeel of union council 2, 2-0.In the Doubles, Ahmed and Intikhab defeated Shakeel and Iftikhar 2-0.In the Cricket Tapeball matches, union council 44 thrashed union council 57 by 4 runs. Union council 48’s Khokhar XI destructed union council 45’s Ishrat XI by 15 runs.Lahore Badshah XI of union council 54 vanquished union council 55’s Chan XI by 20 runs.Ghaziabad XI of union council 56 beat Faysal XI of union council 69 by 15 runs.In the Table Tennis competitions, union council 43’s Adeel XI was unsuccessful against union council 44’s Salman Baig XI.
In Gulberg, Cricket Tapeball matches, union council 97 beat union council 99 by 10 wickets. Union council 96 defeated union council 128 by 5 wickets. Union council 32 beat union council 130 by 10 wickets. Union council 126 thrashed union council 31 by 1 wicket. In Basketball, union council 97 beat union council 130 by 14 points.Union council 129 defeated union council 127 by 2 points. In Football, union council 96 beat union council 128 by 2-1. In Chess, union council 32’s Mudassir Akram won over union council 129’s Farukh Pervez. In the TOwn, healthy baby competition was held in which Fatima Khan took the first position, Zulqarnain was second and Mohammad Moiz got the third position.
In Iqbal Town, union council 110’s Aziz was declared winner in 70 KG category.In 72-85 KG, Usman of union council 110 bagged first place. In 70-85 KG, union council 117’s Abdul Waheed won the competition. In 85 KG, union council 118’s Nabeel won while in 70 KG, union council 119’s Shehriar won the competitions.
In the other districts of Punjab, activities gathered pace with participation of people of all walks of life are seem in all the 10 sectors of the Tehsil level.
In Rawalpindi division, 3089 people took part in events including billiard, volleyball, tug of war, badminton, cricket tape ball and hard ball, football and badminton. Besides, competitions of painting, speech (English and Urdu), Naat Khani, Qirat, Dog Race, healthy Baby, family dressing and pigeon flying were also held. In this division, the district of Attock was the most active where 1919 youngsters and students took part in the events and 1127 won their matches. At Chakwal 404 took part in 13 sports events and 129 won their matches while at Jehlum, 766 displayed their skills in four team events and also there were competitions of naat khani and qirat and 364 were the winners. At Bhakkar, 533 put their talent to display but most talented turned out to be 136.
In Gujranwala, it was the division where most of the events were contested and active activity was witnessed. In this division a total of 7774 took part in around 50 events of both sports and general category. At Sahiwal 1120 took part and 375 were the winners, Multan had 4388’s participation while 1452 were the winners here and at Dera Ghazi Khan 35 won their events when 551 got involved in the activities of the festival.
