Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has expressed sorrow over the loss of precious lives and damage to property on Love of Prophet (PBUH) day.
Terming the violence an abject failure of the government to maintain law and order, Imran Khan has condemned the barbaric ways to which peaceful PTI protesters had been subjected by law enforcement agencies. He has demanded initiation of an inquiry into the killing of 23 citizens and security personnel across the country.
Khan has also condemned destruction of a church in Mardan and the looting spree by criminal elements across the country. “The government cannot absolve itself of the primary responsibility of security for every citizen simply by announcing a public holiday, and letting criminal elements hijack peaceful crowds. The rulers have failed the nation on a day when it was necessary for the polity to project a peaceful image of the Ummah,” he said.
