Over 300 take part in Healthy Baby Competition

The Union Council level, which is the second phase of the Punjab Youth Festival 2012 on Monday entered into its concluding stage with the healthy baby competition, with around 300 participants at two venues in the city.
Mohammad Imran won the healthy baby competition at the Shadbagh venue, while Abeera Fiaz was placed second and Shafian Irfan secured third position. Faiza Gul, LHV, was the chief guest on the occasion and gave prizes to the winners.
At the Garishahu venue, Talha Amer was declared winner of the healthy baby competition while Khyzer Shoaib Bokhari was second and Mohammad Dawood was placed third. The winners received prizes from chief guest, Abid Ali, Tehsil Officer Population, Lahore Cantt.
On the second last day of the Punjab Youth Festival 2012, general category events, competitions of cooking and dress designing concluded under the supervision of the Social Welfare Department, while the healthy baby competition under the general public sector of family events, would continue on the last day (Tuesday), while sports events that include arm wrestling, athletics, badminton, billiard, cricket, tug of war, volleyball, bodybuilding and weightlifting have also entered into their final stage.
Although outdoor sporting activity was badly marred by heavy rain that hit the city on Monday, indoor competitions generated extensive participation.
As the events of the festival continued throughout the province, Lahore too remained actively involved in different competitions. Around 14 UCs of the city were seen involved in the activity and 584 youngsters had entered competitions in 36 events, while 292 won in their respective games.
