A former Pakistani Army Intelligence – Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) official has called on the Afghan security ministers to maintain a good relationship with Pakistan and should not be keen on Afghanistan and India relations.
Gen. Hamid Gul who is believed to be one of the main supporters of the Taliban militants and a key figure who was involved in creating the Taliban group quoted by Afghanistan Tolo Television said senior Afghan security officials should have good relations with Pakistan and specifically with ISI.
It seems his gesture was towards the new key security ministers nominees who have been introduced to Afghan parliament for the voting purposes.
Gen. Hamid Gul said his remarks regarding good relations of Afghan security officials with Pakistan’s ISI were to improve the relations between the two countries.
This comes as Gen. Hamid Gul earlier said that India could not become a strategic ally of Afghanistan.
He told Tolo News, “The nominee for the Afghan Intelligence – National Directorate of Security should have good relations and well known personality to Pakistan’s ISI and should have communications with the Pakistani officials.”
He said the nominee for the Afghan intelligence department should not been keen in relations with India and should be an independent person.
The comments by Gen. Hamid Gul are followed after Afghanistan and India earlier signed a long term strategic cooperation agreement which created tensions among the Pakistani officials regarding the infiltration of India in Afghanistan.

  1. Leave Afghanistan alone, we have already contributed enough to prolong their misery. Stay busy and save you own country from Muslim radicals so called Talibans.

  2. The recent comment of Mr. Sediq Sediqi, a spokesman of the Afghan Ministry of Interior regarding continued interference by Pakistan in Afghanistan affairs and Pakistani government for supporting the Taliban militants is highly unacceptable. Such comments without any rational basis can adversely affect brotherly relations between countries. Pakistani nation highly condemn is and seek clarification.
