PESHAWAR – Owing to the severe financial crisis in the country, the federal government has contacted the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government for two holidays in a week. The suggestion was presented by the Ministry of Finance after which the Cabinet Division and the ministry contacted the provincial Home Ministry and also sent letters to the chief secretary.
It was mentioned in the letter that in order to control the financial crisis and fiscal deficit, all the provincial governments were being taken on board. The federal government sought the recommendations from the provincial ministries on the issue and the final decision would be taken while keeping in view these proposals.
It is pertinent to mention that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab governments had already opposed the decision of two holidays a week.
Banks and other financial institutions must observe two days off a week through out the world due to long working hours. Industrialist who use to sleep till 1.0pm and come to the offices after lunch. would not like to have break but the middle class who work for 8 to 9 hrs a day need two days break for healthy mind and body. moreover they acn easily schedule their work with in five days if they become a lil bit active.
