The Punjab Environment Secretary Saeed Wahla has urged all the departments concerned to make collaborative efforts to fight dengue, and said that the upcoming two to three weeks are extremely important for the breeding of the dengue mosquito larvae.
The environment secretary expressed satisfaction over the efforts made to combat dengue in the division so far as less dengue cases were detected this year as compared to last year. While addressing a meeting, the Rawalpindi Commissioner Imdadullah Bosal said that the DCOs and the assistant commissioner on district level would personally supervise arrangements made against the spread of dengue virus in collaboration with all departments concerned. The meeting was attended by the officials of the district administrations, environmental, social welfare and other departments of the Rawalpindi Division.
The DCOs of the respective districts briefed the meeting about the arrangements made in the areas falling under their jurisdiction.
