Pakistan test and one-day captain, Misbah ul Haq has termed the team’s T-20 series victory against Australia “a morale booster” ahead of the T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka. “It is a good omen for the team as it gained a good confidence-booster to get into rhythm and in right frame of mind before launching its campaign in the mega event in Lanka,” he told reporters at the National Cricket Academy on Tuesday. Mishab said beating Australia in T-20 series has definitely added to players’ confidence and they will be aiming to maintain the flow of their success in the Cup.
He said, it is not wise to blame a player for team’s failure in a particular match or a tournament as the entire teams is responsible for teams success or defeat. “We must look into the aspects which let the team down in the third T-20 match against Australia and try to overcome them because we cannot afford repetition of similar mistakes in a grand tournament like World Cup in which precision, commitment and hard work on part of players will be the main factors to lead the team to success.” he asserted. “It (team) is a talented combination and I am very confident of its success in the Cup,“ he said when asked to comment on the prospects of the team in the Cup in Lanka. Answering a question, he said, he would miss the T-20 as he is no more attached with the T-20 cricket. “Definitely a cricketer misses such a grand event in his international career.“ Misbah said he is focusing on fitness and form to remain a useful part of the one-day and test side. “ I know there is a gap in between as the team will be playing one day and test matches after World and I will play in the domestic tournaments to maintain good form and fitness “,he said. He said wickets in Lanka are likely to be seamer’s friendly and pace bowlers can be a winning factor for their respective teams . “ I think the first six overs in each match are very important in determining the fate of a match “,he said. He was confident that Pakistan will beat India in the practice match ahead of the Wolrd Cup. “Indian team has a good batting line up but we have edge because of our skillful pace bowling and with this factor we are capable of beating them.
