LAHORE – The Minhajul Quran International (MQI) organised a Milad March on Sunday to celebrate the advent of Rabiul Awal. The rally, held to celebrate birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), made its way from the Punjab Assembly to the Data Darbar. Participants were seen carrying placards depicting their love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
People urged other Muslims to celebrate the occasion of Rabiul Awal with full fervour. MQI Secretary General Raheeq Abbasi and MQI Lahore chief Irshad Tahir jointly led the rally while other leaders were also present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Abbasi said that only those societies have the capacity and determination to eradicate terrorism and extremism, which are illumined with love of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), which has attracted thousands of people to the rally.
All these people are ambassadors of peace and condemn forces of terrorism, extremism and radicalism, which have negatively depicted Islamic teachings, he said. The MQI secretary general said that birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is the greatest occasion of happiness for Muslims around the globe. He regretted that the Punjab government is hesitant in allowing the MQI to celebrate the event this year. Warning the Punjab government of consequences of stopping the event, Abbasi vowed that millions of people would attend the conference in Lahore on February 15 and promote Islam’s message of love, peace and harmony worldwide.
He demanded the Punjab government to provide fool-proof security to the conference. The MQI secretary general said that candle of prophetic love continues to light in people’s hearts and terrorism, extremism and conservatism have nothing to do with Islam. Abbasi said that terrorism’s philosophy did not come from Medina and spiritual gatherings and Milad conferences during Rabiul Awal would help eliminate terrorism and extremism.
