The banned terrorist outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has denied any involvement in the Mattni blast and blamed the intelligence agencies for killing civilians to please the US administration.
While talking to news agencies, TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan said that the Mattni attack in which around 11 civilians were killed, including children, was not the work of the TTP fighters. Instead, he blamed the intelligence agencies for the unfortunate incident. Ehsan said that to defame Taliban and to make the US administration happy the intelligence agencies carried out the bomb blasts at public places.
“The ‘US agents’ are responsible for the car bombing at Mattni and for the killing of innocent civilians, including children,” he blamed. He said that the TTP fighters only targeted places like Mehran base and Kamra Air base which were not public places. He also blamed the intelligence agencies for previous bomb blasts at public places in various parts of the country.
The TTP spokesman said that if the Taliban fighters wanted to target someone they would hit their target in isolated areas to avoid the deaths of innocent people.
On Friday, up to 11 people were killed and 19 others including three children sustained injuries when a car bomb exploded near a mosque in Atlas Market Mattni, near Peshawar. According to a police official, six of the injured were in a critical condition at the hospital.
