Senate Leader of the House and the Secretary General of PPP, Senator Jehangir Badar has asked the PML-N leardeship to cut out its political strategy in accordance with the aspirations of the people of small provinces to solve their problems.
He said that he was willing to reach out to the other political parties’ leadership especially the leaders of the PML-N in a sincere manner to solve the problems of the small provinces and of the people living in the backward and underdeveloped areas. The people of the small provinces should not suffer due to the infighting among the political parties rather these should be instrumental to solve their problems, he added.
He deeply regretted what happened in the Punjab Provincial Assembly the other day adding that the elected representatives were supposed to be responsible and people expected exemplary conduct from them.
He said that fixing preferences keeping in view the uplift of the people will not only further restore their confidence on the ability and the sagacity of the political leadership but also strengthen democracy which was the solution of the country’s many challenges facing the country. He extended an offer to all the political leadership to join to fight against the menace of poverty, ignorance and unemployment. He pointed out that it was the sacred duty of the elected representatives to do everything possible for the betterment of the people while within the premises of parliament or the provincial assemblies and getting to each other hair would not only defame the politicians as a whole and would also not bode well for democracy for which they all had rendered countless sacrifices.
He said that the politicians of all shades should adhere to the best parliamentary practices encompassing the spirit of tolerance and accommodation as the lynchpin to achieve the sole objective of serving the people in a decent and dignified manner.
