The rift between MAO College Lahore principal and teaching staff continues, allegedly due to the principal’s vindictive attitude towards his colleagues.
According to sources, the teachers on Thursday organized an Eid Milan Party inside the vicinity of the college in which teachers from almost all departments participated. The college principal was not invited to the party and the teachers displayed cohesion with their (senior) colleagues, who got transferred from the college due to the principal’s alleged discrimination against them, the sources added. It is pertinent to mention that about two months ago, all heads of departments had tendered resignations against alleged “ego-centric behavior” of the principal. However, there had been reconciliation between the two parties, with a condition that the principal would mend his ways. “But within days he victimized the professors who had gone against him,” an insider told. “He demanded explanations and initiated inquiries on the staff he did not get along with” he added. At the end of the party, a teacher, addressing his colleagues, said, “We want to respect as well as be respected.” The teachers urged the principal to not single out teachers and subject them to his vindictive nature. “We are all together. No one (the principal) should consider us alone,” the insider quoted another teacher having said.
