Chenab flowing in low flood

The Chenab River was on Sunday flowing in a low flood with a rising trend in Khanki-Qadirabad Reach whereas the Kabul River was in a low flood at Warsak and a medium flood at Nowshera.
The Swat River was also flowing in a low flood stage at Charsadda Road Bridge while other main rivers: Indus, Jehlum, Ravi and Sutlej, were flowing at the normal stage.
Tarbela and Mangla dams were at elevations of 1,519.94 feet and 1,177.65 feet respectively, 30.06 feet and 64.35 feet below their respective maximum conservation levels of 1,550.00 feet and 1,242.00 feet.
The combined live storage position of Tarbela, Chashma and Mangla reservoirs was 8.292MAF as compared to last year’s 11.238MAF.
According to the Flood Forecasting Division (FFD) Lahore, Saturday’s westerly wave continues to prevail over northern parts of the country. Seasonal low has developed over northwest Bay of Bengal and Monsoon currents are penetrating upper parts of the country up to 4000 feet.
As predicated by the Flood Forecasting Division (FFD), scattered thunderstorm and rain and isolated heavy fall was expected over Kashmir, Punjab (Rawalpindi and Sargoda, Gujranwala, Lahore and Bahawalpur divisions), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and northeastern Balochistan along with upper catchments of rivers Indus, Jhelum, Chenab, Ravi and Sutlej during the next 24 hours.
Isolated thunderstorm and rain may also occur over Gilgit-Baltistan during the same period.

Tarbela Dam water level up by 13 feet

The water level in Tarbela Dam has recorded an increase of 13 feet during the last two days. Flood Forecasting Division said that water level in Tarbela Dam was recorded at 1,519.94 feet, while water inflow stood at 261,100 cusecs and discharge at 110,000 cusecs, a private news channel reported. At Mangla Dam, the water inflow was 27,404 cusecs and discharge was recorded at 12,000 cusecs. The Flood Forecasting Division said usable water reserves in both dams stood at 80,76,000 acre feet.
