Emergency declared in Gilgit

Police and law enforcement agencies have blocked entry and exit routes to Gilgit amid tense law and order situation following Shiite killings in Babuser, a resident told Pakistan Today.
The local administration has declared emergency and gatherings of more than three people are banned in the area.
Three people including Frontier Corps official were killed Tuesday evening in an incident of firing near Sakwar area of Gilgit.
Rangers, local police and army have been deployed and are continuously patrolling the city to deal with any unfortunate incident.
It is pertinent to mention that the Shiite killings on Rawalpindi-Gilgit route has sparked clashes three times claiming hundreds of lives in Gilgit.
