ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain Thursday said his party would keep playing its role in the progress and prosperity of the people at large and would emerge as the single largest party of the country in the next elections.
“The PML -Q is playing its due role as the only opposition party in the centre and the provinces. We don’t need to go to anyone as because of our growing popularity amongst the masses, the politicians would have to come to us. The party’s win in Shangla by-election is a stamp on this hard truth,” Shujaat told a gathering of the party workers at a function held at the PML House to honour the party’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter president Amir Muqam and his associates.
Newly-elected MPA from Shangla Rashaad Khan was present on the occasion. Expressing gratitude to the Almighty Allah for the success of his party candidate, Shujaat said people had rejected the joint candidates of PPP and ANP, PML-N and JUI-F, and that of other parties and polled their votes in favour of the opposition party.
Mushahid Hussain Sayed said the PML-Q was a pro-democracy party and the by-polls results had stamped its popularity, adding that his party would continue working under Chaudhry Shujaat.
