A family’s joy turned to grief and then shock when doctors handed over the dead body of newly-born girl to a couple on Thursday and informed them that they had had a stillborn baby boy, City42 reported.
According to the channel, Ali Hassan, resident of Kot Khawja, took his wife to the emergency ward of Ganga Ram Hospital for her delivery.
After the operation, the doctors handed announced that the lady had given birth to a stillborn baby boy and handed over a dead body to the grieving family.
However, when the family went home, they discovered that they had been given the dead body of a baby girl.
The family returned to the hospital, demanding an explanation. However, the doctors did not answer Ali Hassan’s frantic queries.
At doctors’ refusal to cooperate, Ali Hassan and his family staged a protest outside the hospital and blocked the road.
The management of the hospital then announced that they will investigate the matter.
