Sindh forest department has set the target of plantation of 9 million saplings during the monsoon tree plantation campaign 2012 with active participation of the people of all segments of life.
According to the Sindh chief conservative officer forest, out of 9 million sapling, 6.300 million saplings will be planted outside the forest area while 2.700 million saplings will be planted in different forests of Sindh province.
He informed that besides the government employees, the students, growers, people from different walks of life and representatives of non-governmental organizations will be taken on board to fully take part in this national cause.
During Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign 2012, he informed that Sindh Forest Department will organize workshops and seminars at each district headquarters with the objective to create awareness among the masses about the benefits of tree plantation.
During the campaign, technical guidance will also be provided to growers and the organization regarding plantation of trees, he said and added that Conservative of Forest and Social Forestry will also establish cell in Hyderabad and Sukkur in order to ensure the provision of saplings of trees to the participants of the campaign.
