Vivek Oberoi is all set to become a father. His wife Priyanka Alva is about two months pregnant. Coincidentally, so is his younger sister, Meghna Oberoi. “Vivek is elated with this happy coincidence. Both Priyanka and Meghna are due around the same time (February-March). The entire family is very happy, especially, Vivek’s parents — veteran actor Suresh Oberoi and Yashodahra Oberoi,” says an insider close to the family. Vivek married Priyanka, daughter of Karnataka minister Jeevaraj Alva in Bangalore in 2010. “He (Vivek) is in a happy place. Not only is he preparing to become a father, he also has some big films lined up over the next couple of years,” adds the insider. We’ve learnt of Vivek’s request to the filmmakers he’s working with. “He’s requested everyone to give him time off for around 20 days in February, so he can be with Priyanka at that time,” adds another source. “Since he is shooting for back-to-back films, he wants to finish work in advance.” Vivek is doing Kismat Love Paisa Dilli (with Mallika Sherawat), Kumar Taurani’s Jayantabhai Ki Love Story, Krrish 3 (alongside Hrithik Roshan), Zilla Ghaziabad (alongside Sanjay Dutt) and Indra Kumar’s Grand Masti. “Indra’s film might release around February-March. Vivek’s already had a word with him about taking leave,” says the insider. As for Meghna, she married businessman Amit Bama in 2008. “Vivek is very close to his sister. But he isn’t talking about any of the pregnancies,” adds the source. Vivek, who is travelling to Sri Lanka, remained unavailable for comment.
