A local court on Wednesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for seven accused, including former president Pervez Musharraf and former prime minister Shaukat Aziz, in the Akbar Bugti assassination case. The court, headed by judge Nawaz Khan Barakzai, expressed anger over police authorities’ failure to arrest the accused. The court ordered that all the accused, living in the country or abroad be arrested and produced before the court on September 5. Others whose arrest warrants were issued include former interior minister Aftab Khan Sherpao, former Balochistan chief minister Jam Yousuf, former Balochistan governor Awais Ghani, former Dera Bugti DCO Samad Lasi and former home minister Shoib Nosherwani. The hearing on the case would be resumed on September 5.

  1. It may make the judge feel important that he has the authority to issue arrest warrants for Musharraf but that isn't happening. Musharraf will not be arrested. I wonder if these judges go back to their chambers after issuing an order like this and roll on the floor laughing. They have to know that they just gave an order that is not implementable. Aside from a couple of mistakes, he was by far the best President we have had in atleast 40-45 years. His biggest mistake was letting zardari and nawaz live. He should have had them burnt alive and then blame it on a short circuit in electical wiring. It would have been a believable story.

  2. Political justice must be given. Once people in power as President and Prime Minister of Pakistan and latter living abroad to cover up their crimes, is just shameful. Dr Ahmad Rashid Malik – Islamabad
